UNIFIED COMMAND

The Unified Command course is designed to provide those that will be the decision makers at the scene of a major incident with the skills necessary to manage the incident effectively, the power to control the many agencies that will respond and understand the principles of Unified Command, and the ability to distinguish between Unified Command and Incident Command.

Please note:

  1. Access FSI's website at www.fsi.uiuc.edu.
  2. Click on Courses.
  3. Click on Search & Register, type in 'Unified Command' and click on 'Find Classes'.
  4. After finding the particular class you want to attend, on the far right, click on the 'Online' under 'Registration'.
  5. Click 'yes' whenever it asks 'Do you want to display the nonsecure items?'.
  6. Under 'Online Registration Step 1'  click on 'Unified Command PIN Request Form'.  Click 'yes' when asked 'Do you want to display the nonsecure items?'.
  7. Fill-in the four fields and click 'Request'.  Click 'yes' when asked 'Do you want to display the nonsecure items?'  You will receive a 'Special PIN Request' via  email within 24 hours from IFSI.
  8. Repeat steps 1-5. Fill-in all requested information under 'Online Registration Step 1: Personal Information".  Click on 'Proceed to Step 2'.
  9. Under 'Online Registration Step 2: Chief Validation', go to the 'Final Validation and Confirmation' box at the bottom on the page. Under 'Chiefs Department' click on the drop-down box and scroll down to 'Unified Command'.
  10. Where it asks for the 'Chiefs PIN', add the PIN # you received in step #6.
  11. Where it asks for 'Priority Level', leave as is.
  12. Must choose one of the 'Bill' options.  Since there is no charge for the class, no one will receive a bill.
  13. Must choose the 'I understand the Terms of IFSI Online registration'.  Click on 'Submit Registration'.
  14. Print a copy of the 'Registration Submitted Successfully' page for your records.
